Capture a Series of Radiographs

Learn how to capture X-rays in XDR

Step 1: Select a patient from your practice management software, launch the XDR software by clicking on either the XDR connector or link provided for your practice management software. This will open the patients XDR account.

Note:  If the patient's information is not already in XDR you will be prompted to ADD the patient to your XDR database, as seen below...

Click Yes: Continue Task to be taken to the patient's exams screen as seen below.

Step 2: Select the New Exam button.

Step 3: Select a Layout from the list.

Step 4: Click on Auto Capture to arm sensor.

Note: If you have multiple sensor brands, please make sure to select the correct sensor brand from the Sensor Mfg drop down menu located on the left side of the screen.

Step 5: "TAKE X-RAY NOW" will be displayed in green, indicating that you can begin capturing. The software will wait five minutes for you to capture an x-ray before timing out.

Note: While in auto capture mode, within a few seconds after capturing the first x-ray, the x-ray will appear on-screen, quickly minimize itself into the X-RAY1 tile, and then prepare the next X-RAY2 tile for capture and proceeds in the numerical sequence.

Step 6: Sensor will stop after the last X-ray is captured. Click on the Save to Records button, located at the top left corner when you are finished capturing.

Note: The saved exam will appear in the patient exams list as seen below.
